Hello world. We are All Hands AI, a new company founded by Robert Brennan, Xingyao Wang, and Graham Neubig. Our mission is to build the world’s best AI software development agents, for everyone, in the open.

Here’s why we think this mission is important.

Why AI software development agents?

Software powers almost everything nowadays, and it is the tool we use to build the future. AI agents that can write software will make software engineers faster, and possibly even allow non-engineers to build useful and complex apps as well.

Why open?

Given how powerful this technology is going to be, everyone should be able to use it and participate in making it better. And developers just like open source; if something isn’t working you can hack on it, and contribute to making your fellow developers’ lives better.

What will we build?

We are building OpenDevin, a platform for open-source AI software agents. We will continue to improve the accuracy/UX, and build the community!

It’s already pretty cool right now though, so check it out if you haven’t.

Why make a company?

The OS community is amazing, but it requires a full-time staff (and compute) to do careful work to make a world-class UX, perform extensive experimentation to improve agents, and deliver a product that can make a dent in real-world development processes.
